Sure, the Nintendo Switch 2 is great and all, but not only is the Switch OLED still the only OLED model, but it's just got a sizeable price drop.

The console has the most vibrant display of any generation of Switch hardware, and is still getting new releases, and Woot has knocked $60 off the MSRP which is the biggest discount we've seen since its successor launched in June.

Woot’s deal offers a Switch OLED, in the fetching white colorway, for just $289. That’s a saving of just over $60 on the MSRP of $349.99, and since Woot is owned by Amazon, you can login with your existing Amazon info.

For that, you’re not only getting the Switch OLED, which is ideal for gaming on the go or connected to your TV, but it comes bundled with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which, to many, remains the pinnacle of the series despite Mario Kart World’s debut on Switch 2.

There’s a handy redemption code in the box for Nintendo Switch Online, too, which would be an additional cost otherwise, making this a great bundle.

Given it has access to an absolutely huge library of games you may not have played before, it's well worth a look for lapsed gamers or anyone with travel to do this Summer but who doesn't want to spend Switch 2 money.

Still looking for a Switch 2? It’s back in stock at Target, while the Pokémon Legends Z-A bundle is up for preorder, too, while there are a whole host of Switch 2 games launching in August and beyond including Madden NFL 26.

The console likely won't see any price cuts for a while (even during Black Friday), meaning you can expect to pay $450 for the system, or $500 for a bundle including Mario Kart World or Pokemon Legends Z-A.

That's a steep climb from the $289 you could pay for this Switch OLED bundle, but the Switch 2 is a more powerful system that can run Switch games at higher frame rates and resolutions where supported.

Still, if you're looking for an affordable console and want to feel safe in the knowledge that your library will transfer over to the Switch 2 if you want to upgrade one day, it's really not a bad deal.

Still, either way, it's worth noting that the OG Switch is only going to get cheaper (hopefulyl) now that the Switch 2 is out there and easy to pick up.
