Superman is here, and it's wonderful. IGN's Tom Jorgensen wrote in his review: "Superman is a wonderfully entertaining, heartfelt cinematic reset for the Man of Steel, and a great start for the DCU on the big screen."
What a joy! I can't wait to sit down and watch the film this weekend myself. But, in the meantime, there's a whole bunch of DC graphic novels (comics?) on sale at Amazon right during Prime Day 2025. This is part of its popular "3 for 2" deal, where you buy two comics and get a third free.
If you're popping out to see Superman this weekend and fancy reading what director James Gunn considers to be his main inspiration for the film, then it's time to pick up All-Star Superman.
It's down to $9.29 in the sale, or $27.90 for the Deluxe Edition, and you can pick up a couple more comics to go alongside, and save a decent chunk of change at the same time.
You could opt for another big inspiration for an upcoming DCU film, Supergirl, in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is also included in the "3 for 2" sale. That's alongside Kingdom Come, Superman: Birthright, Superman: For All Seasons, Batman: The Long Halloween, and plenty more as well.
It's not the only thing in the sale right now either with Marvel comics also available. Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2: The Paper (collecting issues #7–12) is available at $17.01, and it’s eligible for Amazon’s 3-for-2 Prime Day sale, meaning you can mix and match it with other comics, DVDs, books, and more.
That means if you pick up three eligible items across books, comics, or even vinyl, the cheapest one is free. It’s a perfect excuse to also grab Ultimate Invasion ($19.39) or Ultimate X-Men Vol. 1 ($17.01)—both of which are included in the same deal.
