LEGO is running a promotion right now that gets you double Insider Points on select sets. You can check out all the applicable sets here. It might not technically be a Labor Day sale, but it’s happening in the run-up to Labor Day, so we’re kind of splitting hairs here. However, it’s a good deal. The only note is that you have to be a LEGO Insider to take advantage, but you can sign up here for free. The sale ends August 31, so grab what you want before then.
Double Insider Points on Select Sets
What kinds of sets can you get double Insider Points on right now? Some of the recent big one-off sets. Perhaps the most impressive one is the T-Rex skeleton LEGO set for adults that’s Jurassic World branded, despite being more of an original Jurassic Park set. Another set that’s aimed at the 18+ age rage and gets you double points right now is the LEGO Art Van Gogh’s Sunflowers set. You build a frame and the painting within, and you can actually hang it on your wall — like pretty much all LEGO Art sets. Anyone who read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, or who has the very American dream of taking a riverboat down the Mississippi River may be interested in another of the sets that qualify for the promotion. LEGO The Simpsons Living Room GWP Is Back
Any Simpsons fans out there may want to pick up the recently released LEGO The Simpsons: Krusty Burger set. It’s the first Simpsons set to come out in years, and it’s a great one. It doesn’t qualify for double Insiders Points, but Insiders who buy it now will get the LEGO Simpsons Living Room set for free as a Gift With Purchase if they buy it now. That GWP set was available right when the Krusty Burger set released, but it went away shortly thereafter. Now it’s back, which is great news for anyone who hasn’t picked it up yet.
What Can You Get with Insider Points?
If you’re new to the LEGO Insider program, you might be wondering why anyone cares about the points. They can get you some pretty cool stuff.
Every purchase on the LEGO Store gets you points (and buying the above sets before the end of August gets you double points). You can redeem your points here for various rewards. The rewards change over time, but you can generally exchange points to get exclusive LEGO sets for free, for physical items like stationery, to enter sweepstakes, or to download digital goodies like wallpapers and other things. The LEGO Store currently has nine pages of rewards you can peruse to see if anything looks worthy of the points it costs.
