As a Veteran Gamer, £1000 off This OLED LG TV Is the Last-Chance Prime Day Deal I’ve Been Waiting For

When it comes to both playing video games and watching movies, OLEDs are undoubtedly still the best TVs in terms of picture quality, response times, and black levels. That is, if you can afford one, given their usually higher prices.

Thankfully, Amazon UK's Prime Day has knocked £1000 off the 2024 model of the stunning 77-inch LG evo C4 OLED TV, one of the best offers we’ve seen in the sale, and it is still available during its final hours toward midnight tonight.

With that grand off the price tag, equating to 38%, the 77-inch LG C4 is now only £1599.99. Meanwhile, the 55-inch version is on sale for £859.99 with £259.01 taken off. If your entertainment space needs something smaller, the 48-inch evo C4 is 28% off at £649.99.

Granted, these still look like hefty costs to those who’ve never owned an OLED TV. Well, let me tell you that the investment is worth it. That’s especially if you like to get the most out of our gaming.

Compared to LEDs, for example, which light up screen pixels with a backlight, OLED TVs make it so pixels emit their own light.

This enabled perfect blacks, vibrant colours, and better visual clarity altogether when playing atmospheric gems like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Alan Wake 2, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Just like when trying out 4K or 60FPS for the first time, OLED is one of those technological formats where, once you try it, you can never really see yourself going back.

Speaking of frame rates, most importantly, for fast-paced titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Cyberpunk 2077, an OLED TV’s faster pixel response times mean much higher frame rates too — usually up to 120FPS, just like the LG evo C4.

There are other top-rate makers of OLED TVs, like Samsung and Sony, but LG is arguably the very best in terms of quality, design, and internal features, like its a9 AI processor for advanced visuals.

While that just under-£1600 price is still high, the LG evo C4 is about to get £1000 more expensive after today. So, grab it whilst you can if you’re in the market for a new gaming centrepiece.
