Amazon’s Prime Day Deals have arrived, and the almost week-long event has big savings across microSD cards from Samsung and SanDisk.
The biggest saving on offer can net you a 1TB microSD card, branded with the original edge-lord himself, Shadow the Hedgehog no less, for $69.99 (that’s a saving of 40% from the MSRP of $116.99), but there are also deals on the rest of the gang, with each represented by a different character.
Honestly, I've never really gotten the point of themed microSD cards (even the cute Switch Mario, or Animal Crossing collection), considering you won't ever see it when actually using the storage within something like the Steam Deck or OG Switch.
Still, despite this, it's actually one of the best microSD card deals going in the Prime Day sales, on the best card for Steam Deck, so I can't complain too much.
Save on These microSD cards for Prime Day 2025
I can’t help but feel Knuckles has got the short end of the deal, though, since he not only represents Samsung’s 128GB card, but also has no discount. Hardly befitting of an Echidna, but yours for $17.99.
Thankfully, Tails adorns the 256GB microSD card and gets a small discount, meaning you can double your ‘Knuckles storage’ for an extra $2.
Next up, the Blue Blur himself offers 512GB at a very reasonable $29.99, thanks to a 30% discount, before Shadow rounds out the lineup with 1TB at $69.99.
Not fussed by Team Sonic? SanDisk undercuts Samsung’s Tails-branded option with a $16.99 card, and Sonic’s version with a $29.99 512GB card. But, these are A2 cards, so the speeds won't be anywhere near as good for Steam Deck.
Whichever option you pick, it’s worth noting that these won’t work on your brand-new Switch 2, sadly. Nintendo’s latest console requires microSD Express cards, which are faster (and more expensive). They’re also not discounted because they’re fresh on the market, and in hot demand thanks to Nintendo.
Still, Team Sonic (or, uh, Team SanDisk?) can help with other portable consoles. If it’s the first Switch, these will be just the ticket, but they’re also ideal for handheld PC options like the Steam Deck.
If you are still rocking the first Switch (and why wouldn’t you be? It’s great!, then there are discounts to be had on first-party games, too.
