Looking to pad your collection without flattening your wallet? Whether you're gearing up for couch co-op or hunting your next solo obsession, there’s something here worth slotting into your library.

This Day in Gaming ?

In retro news, I'm celebrating the 16th birthday of Ninja Gaiden II. While the 2004 revival of Ninja Gaiden was lauded for being exceedingly hard, I remember this follow up was more largely known for being excessively gory. Death by dismemberment was all the rage, thanks to Obliteration Techniques that would put limb-reduced enemies into an even greater world of pain. Pretty standard stuff nowadays, though.

Nice Savings for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch kicks things off with No Man’s Sky at 60% off. The game’s Switch port runs on its own custom-built engine which allowed Hello Games to squeeze the entire universe into just 3.1GB. Meanwhile, Pokémon Legends: Z-A offers a rare early discount. Though info’s still tight, it marks Game Freak’s first fully urban open-world concept, rumoured to draw inspiration from Paris' arrondissements.
